VirMan OS : Raang Birangi Holi

"Bolo Di, Is it a deal this year? Come on Di" Manvi was jumping in joy while waiting for Jeevika to respond. "Kaisa deal Saali Sahiba?" Viren interrupted his wife and his Saali's conversation. "Woh jeeju, I was reconfirming our yearly Holi deal. Haar saal, there will be competition between Di and myself. It is norm that we will put color each other first before anyone else and the competition is who will be the first to color. The loser will have to obey the winner's hukum for a day" Manvi announced the Behna's Holi deal. Viren's smile faded as he heard the deal and Manvi immediately noticed it. " Kya hua Jeeju" Manvi was asked in concern. "Is there any chance for you to compromise your deal this year?" Viren requested. "Kaisa compromise Jeeju?" Manvi quizzed. "Can both of us share the privilege of being the first to apply color on Jeevika tomorrow?" Viren asked. His suggestion left both the sister baffled. "How is that possible" both the sisters asked in unison.  "Very simple, let's make a deal Saali Sahiba. I will be the first to color my wife on her left cheek while you will be the first to color your di on her right cheek. Both of our wish will be fulfilled, what say ladies?" Viren presented his case with the best negotiation deal. "Jeeju you are such a genius, it is a pakka deal!" Manvi jumped in joy and left the room. Jeevika couldn't help admiring her lawyer husband who has handled the situation so well without disappointing Manvi and freeing her from her dilemma.

Manvi rose with joy in the morning. She was elated to see extravaganza Holi celebration at the Vandhera mansion. The place was filled with people, music, dance and colors. She has only seen such celebration on movies and today she is part of it.  Manvi realized that her mission would be extra difficult this year; firstly she has to locate her Di and reach her before anyone else manages to color her Di or herself for the matter. "Come on Manvi Chowdary, you can do it yaar. Stay focus, stay away from color until you find Di!" Manvi kept on reminding herself while her eye scans for Jeevika in the crowd. "Uff, seems like the whole Chandigarh has flooded the Vandhera house... Di kaha hai tum?" Manvi mumbled to herself. At last, she found Swamini bua introducing her Di to some guest."Didi, here I come" she slyly smiled to herself and  went into the crowd while keeping her radar active to avoid any color attack on herself  before she accomplish her mission.

Virat's eyes were skimming for his partner, his Bandariya amongst the crowd. He found it disturbing that she was not part of the celebration. He was worried whether she was not well or did anyone forbid her from attending the celebration. Lately she has been apple of the eye for Vandhera clan especially Dadaji and Swamini bua, so it is pretty impossible that someone would have been harsh on her. Suddenly his gaze fell upon a familiar petite figure trying to penetrate thru the crowd. She seems to be very discreet in her act; at the same time it seemed like she was preying on someone.  Virat smirked when he saw his Bandariya in action, filled his palms with color and set on his new mission "Mission Bandariya" with the devilish grin on his face. Manvi almost reached her Di when Kadambari chachi whisked Jeevika from the spot to meet some other guest. Manvi was irritated, "If Di needs to meet so many people, then they should just organize a national parade and Di can meet the entire guest at once" she grumbled while looking for hideout to plan her next attempt. Jeevika was also eyeing for Manvi in the midst of entertaining the guest. She has also assigned her husband to spy for his Saali but she was pretty skeptical since he is capable of siding towards his Saali more often. "After all, Manvi didn't earn the name 'Jeeju ki Chamchi' from Virat for no reason" she thought to herself.

Jeevika finally spotted Manvi walking towards the secluded fountain area, she was about go behind her when Vanshika Ma requested Jeevika for an errand. She was unable to decline."Acha toh mere moos yahan chup rahe" she thought to herself and decided to deal with Mannu the moment she is done with her errand. Manvi was sitting at the fountain, planning her next attempt when suddenly she felt presence of an intruder. Before she could strike, she felt her both her cheeks were filled with gulal by a familiar touch. "Aww Di, you won again this year!" she exclaimed and turned with her 500 watts smile and suddenly the smile vanished into shock. The familiar touch, the hand that painted her cheeks with yellow gulal belonged to Virat not her Di. "Virat! Tumne yeh kya kiya!"  Manvi gasped in shock. Virat was equally flabbergasted with her reaction; his heart ached the moment her smile faded."Mannu..." Jeevika cried from behind. Manvi's eyes got teary the moment she saw her Di who was standing behind Virat holding the tray of colors. "You broke our tradition Mannu, and you lost again this year" Jeevika joked while pouting her lips pretending to be disappointment. "Di, I'm sorry. Thanks to your Devar, everything is ruined" Manvi replied in low voice. Jeevika sensed the change in Manvi and hugged her, "Arrey Pagal, how can anyone ruin our Holi Mannu. The tradition is not fully broken, my right cheeks is still waiting for you nah" she comforted her. Both the sisters cuddled in their sisterly hug until Viren interrupted. Both the sisters applied color on their cheeks and wished each other again and ended it with their trademark coin flip into the fountain. Then it was the jeeju-saali and bhabhi-devar holi moments before Jeevika and Viren excused themselves. Virat wished Manvi after his bhabhi and bhai left and Manvi replied with curt nod. Her expression didn't match her eyes and for once he was unable to gauge whether she was angry or sad

Virat felt pang of guilt for ruining his Bandariya's Holi. He wanted to apologize to her but she disappeared into the crowd. Virat hurried behind her but he lost her trail.  He was about to search for her when Swamini bua requested him to entertain some guest.  Despite being physically present, his mind wandered for his Bandariya; he was unsure why he is unable to bear seeing her being sad. Viren salvaged him from the agony, Virat immediately excused himself and left to hunt down his Bandariya and bring back the smile that he snatched. He searched the whole place but she was nowhere to be found, not even in her room. His anxiety was driving him crazy when he found the terrace door open. He mentally smacked his head, "How can I forget the terrace!! This is the place she finds her solace whenever she is happy, down or angry". He slowly tip-toed to the terrace as he didn't want to scare her, he has done enough damage for the day when he heard her conversation with her demised parents.

"Mummy Papa, muhje kya hua? I was supposed to be angry at him for ruining my Holi, breaking our tradition. I was mentally prepared that my Holi will never be the same the day Di got married but this year was an exceptional gift for me. It was like dream come true to continue our tradition which I thought was never possible thanks to Jeeju but yet destiny cheated me in His form. It was Di's right to color my Holi, to color my life not His yet why is this weird feeling overpowering my anger. This is Manvi  Chowdary... I was supposed to give him a piece of my mind instead of walking away. Why is my anger crystalizing to tears the moment it meets his gaze? Why am I melting in his smile and why am I crying now when I'm supposed to brewing in fury... Kyu?" she asked her parents.

"Hey partner, can I join you in your private celebration" he asked her. His voice startled her, her body jerked in shock while she turn away to flutter away the tears that was forming in her eyes hoping he has not heard anything. "Tum aur yahan! " she probed him. "Haan mein and was that a Yes or No for my request?" he asked. "It is a free world and this is your house so you can sit wherever you wish" she shrugged. Her felt her sarcasm in her reply and coldness in her tone. Manvi was about to get up when she felt his grip on her wrist, "Thodi dheer ruk jao Manvi. Mera baath suno" he pleaded. "Kya kehna chata hai?" she snapped at him and freed off his grip."Woh actually mein...Woh..." he floundered for words. "Woh Manvi, I'm sorry yaar. I didn't mean to ruin your Holi nor your tradition. Mujhe kuch nahi pata and you didn't bother sharing this with me. Call yourself my partner and never bother sharing this important tradition and plan with me?" he replied. "Waise are you apologizing or blaming me?" she shoots him back. "Acha sunno meri pyari bhabhi ki bhehna, I'm really sorry meri maa" he pleaded by pulling his ears with his trademark smile. "Theek hai beta, your forgiven" she melted in his apologies. "Pakka?" he asked again. "You need a declaration letter?" she mocked at him. "Nah I need your smile to prove it" he smirked and she blushed. Her lips slowly curved into smile fulfilling his wish and he was euphoric.

'Chalo mere partner, we have missed half of the Holi ka mazak. It is time for double masti, let's paint the Vanderas and Chandigarh with colors" he hailed while extending his hand to her.  The word "masti" brought back the glee in Manvi's face as she held his hand as they walked out. Suddenly she paused, "Virat ek minute ruko" she cried while running back to the terrace. "Happy Holi partner!" she shouted as she colored his face with raang. "Happy Holi mere Bandariya" he replied her. He was not sure why but he felt so contented to see her smile, her excitement. He wrapped his arms around her shoulder as they walked out to enjoy their Holi.

Virman OS: You're the color of my life

It was Bhabhi's first Holi in her sasural and the eent was planned in a grand manner but all the preparation was done discreetly to surprise her. Swamini bua and Kadambari chachi would have rocked the whole Chandigarh if they were running event management firm. The word 'Party' will just bring out the best in both of them. They just need to tap their invisible magic wand and things just gets organize the way they want it, from the caterers to deco and music. It was a perfect combination of class with a touch of Bollywood. The ladies of Vandhera would have overpowered the Vandhera Law firm if they actually commercialized their ideas.

Everyone was gathered around the Holi bonfire while Bhai and Bhabi offered their first offering to the bonfire on the eve of Holi. Everyone was talking about Holi celebration while Manvi looked least interested in the conversation. She was more immersed in her own thoughts, lost in her own world. Virat was surprised to see Manvi being so quiet; in fact she looked pretty disturbed.

"Kaha kogaya mere Chaudrain" he nudged her off her thoughts. "What is cooking in the tiny head of yours Bandariya" he probed her again which she only returned with a confused look. "I was thinking about the Holi celebration tomorrow, actually na Virat I'm worried about Holi yaar" she finally spoke. "Worried aur kyu?" Virat was troubled by her expression. "Virat, mein Holi kelna jathi hoon" she answered him innocently. "Hain Bandariya, we will all celebrate Holi tomorrow na. Tum kyu pareshaan hoon?" he was still baffled on what was bothering Manvi. "Virat, I have always celebrated Holi with full masti throughout my life. I have painted the whole Rishikesh with colors during Holi but not sure whether it will be possible this year" she explained. "Toh, you are missing Rishikesh, but we thought you wanted to be with Bhabi for Holi?" he quizzed her. "Nahi buddhu, I recalled last year Diwali celebration. The Vandhera style Diwali, how all of you shared a single patakha and sat down in the balcony watching the rest of the servants enjoying with the crackers" she answered.  "Toh, what is the connection of the Diwali celebration with you celebrating Holi here?" he probed her, losing his precious patience. "I just hope that it is not Vandhera parampara or style to only apply a stroke of color on the cheek then sit on the balcony watching the rest play with colors. I rather be a servant of Vandhera house than to die out of boredom while watching the celebration. I don't know whether I will be able refrain myself from causing any havoc tomorrow in this state" she whined. Virat's concern transformed to amusement then he burst into laughter leaving Manvi mystified. She was agitated that he was laughing at her misery. "Hare wah, didn't know you were so smart Manvi. You have understood the norm of Vandhera's and predicted the exact way we celebrate Holi. I don't know whether Holi par mazak ayega par kal tumhe dekha zahor mazak ayega" he joked while heading back to the house leaving Manvi vexed and sad at the same time.

Manvi coerced herself to get up from the bed in the morning when her alarm sound blared into her ears. She usually looked forward for Holi but not this year; if not for her Di, she would have ran away to Rishikesh yesterday night itself. "Mannu, jaldi utho na. Saab neeche hai" Jeevika shouted at her room door. "Hah Di, coming" she answered while dragging her feet to the bathroom to get ready. "I really wonder why this people are so excited. If watching others play Holi is so fun, imagine being a part of it!" she thought to herself while getting ready. Everyone was ready for pooja when Manvi arrived. The whole Vandhera clan was dressed white. Virat watched as Manvi walked down the stairs, he has never seen her dressed in white before but he had to admit she looked like an angel. For a moment, he was struck by her naive beauty but then he realized the smile that usually adorns her face was missing. He knew the reason why and he was ready to prove to his Bandariya that even the Vandhera's knew how to enjoy. Dadaji placed thilak on everyone's forehead and officially declared the Holi celebration to begin. Manvi managed a faint smile and wished everyone Happy Holi.

Manvi decided to head back to the room when Virat dragged her out, she stood there flabbergasted. She couldn't believe her eyes; it looked like the whole Chandigarh was gathered there. Festive mood filled the Vandhera mansion. There were Holi colors, food, drinks, dance and music, totally opposite of what she anticipated. "Kaisa laga hamara holi celebration Deft footiya?" Virat asked her. She was unable to utter a single word due to her shock. "Virat, can you pinch me?" she mumbled after sometime. "I need to know whether this is dream or reality" she continued. "Bandariya, it is reality. We Vandhera's do know how to enjoy. Samjha mere jaan" he smirked. "Chalo, are you planning to stand here like a statue the whole day or are you going to join us in the fun" he asked her. Before he could complete his sentence, Manvi dashed out to the crowd. "Bandariya, puri Bandariya" he thought to himself as he joined in the celebration.

Virat was enjoying himself till the moment he saw Maya. The sight of her was enough to wash off all the excitement and happiness he was enjoying. She was cladded in white saree with skimpy blouse; first time he had seen her draped with so much of cloth in contrast to her usual style. She was in her total Desi Girl wannabe getup. He saw some of the guys were already drooling over her as she stood in front of him, trying to seduce him back. Maya tried to win him back in all ways and it failed; now she is trying to win him with lust. White was pure and divine but it looked so dark on her. She claims to be sorry and regretted her past mistake; she even managed to convince Bua and Manvi but he knew something will never change and Maya is one of them. Not for once, he saw the regret, sincerity or genuineness in her eyes.   Instead of drooling over her, he was disgusted and was about to turn away when he saw a stark of contrast behind her.  He saw his Bandariya, she was so divinely beautiful cladded in her simple white salwar, and her hair was now let loose. She was busy enjoying herself with a bunch of kids, jumping in excitement and smearing colors to their face but manage to escape from their attempt to color her face. She never found it difficult to mingle with kids, maybe because she herself is still an innocent child in heart. Virat felt an electrifying attraction from her laughter, her naivets. He was unknowingly drawn towards her. Her smile was more intoxicating compare to the Bhang that was served. His lips carved into smile as he watched her dancing with glee. The anger in his eyes mellowed, he felt the color that was drained from his life reemerging.

Virat's impulsive desire made him fill his hands with Holi colors and walk towards her. His faint smile turned seductive as he walked towards her. For a moment, Maya thought Virat was unable to resist her and she succeeded in winning him back. She opened her arms to embrace him as he neared but she was shocked as he walked past her as if she was invisible. Her smile turned into horror when she saw Virat approaching Manvi instead. Virat was least bother about Maya; he not only walked past her but also leaving her and her memories in his life behind forever. Manvi started to run for safety when she saw Virat approaching her with colors filled in his hand but he was too fast for her. He managed to pin her down at the corner of the garden. Manvi struggled to escape but her body froze to his sudden proximity. His closeness sent out different vibes which Manvi failed to decode but it clearly made her uncomfortable yet she couldn't resist the fact that she was enjoying it. Virat leaned closer to her, colored her cheeks with colors on his palm while whispering "Happy Holi Meri Bandariya" in her ears in his husky voice.

Her cheeks turned hot with the heat from his touch, she managed to regain her composure as he moved away."Virat, tumhe nahi chodunga. If I don't fill you with color today, mere naam badulungi" she mocked at him while walking away to grab the tray full of colors to attack him. He just stood there smiling and told himself "I will always be here Bandariya, waiting for you to color my life"

VirMan OS : Will You Be My Valentine?

"Kya???? No way!" both Virat and Manvi cried in unison nearly deafening Jeevika & Viren. "For once, we have unity among our siblings unfortunately we can't enjoy it. Now let's move to plan B" Viren told to Jeevika.  Viren dragged Virat aside while Jeevika tried pacifying Manvi."Bhai, are you out of your mind... Me aur woh  Bandariya together on Valentine dinner!!!" Virat finally spoke once they're out of Jeevika & Manvi's earshot. "Virat mera bhai, take a deep breathe... Relax yaar, let me explain" Viren. Virat nodded and anxiously waited for his Bhai's explanation. "Yaar, I didn't know bua planned a Valentine surprise for me & Jeevika. I have already made my plans and I don't want to disappoint bua as well. I just want you & Manvi to go on the dinner planned by bua while Jeevika and I will go on our date. Nobody will find out and bua or Jeevika won't be offended. Please bhai" Viren pleaded. Virat was never able to see his bhai in this state, but going out for a date with Manvi is equivalent to suicidal. "Anyways I know things have not been smooth between you and Manvi recently and this is a good time to patch up bhai" Viren continued and Virat was stunned.

It was almost a week since their argument, Virat had a row with Dadaji and poor Manvi was at the wrong place at the wrong time. She became his punching bag to vent out his anger and this time she was pissed off. He didn't want to apologize and she totally ignored his existence for the whole week. He tried to pretend nothing happen and engage into small talks with her she was different this time. She actually made him wonder whether he was invisible. "Virat! Kaha koh gaya? " Viren's voice startled Virat from  his thoughts. "Oh nothing... Bhai I just don't know whether all this will work out or not. I mean I don't want to be highlight of the town tomorrow, imagine headlines "Romantic Valentine turns sour for Vandhera's most eligible bachelor" if we end up fighting like cats and dogs there. Bua's arrangement will always have sophistication that is almost impossible to meet especially by souls like me & Manvi" Virat voiced his hesitance. "Bhai, my Saali is not that bad as you fear. She may be loud and impulsive but she is who she is and you are not an angel yourself. We both know that, don't we?" Viren smirked and continued. "Your crush on her is also pretty obvious as well, so I'm giving you a chance to make up with her and make your brother happy. Well if you still skeptical, I have another candidate in line for her. Rohan have been pretty impressed with her since my shaadi and is ever willing to offer his hand for marriage. So the ball is on your court" Viren concluded.  Virat felt sudden surge of jealousy the moment he heard the jerk, Rohan's name. "Bhai, no need to trouble any Rohan or Rahul... I will take her for the dinner as plan, anything for you and bhabhi." Virat immediately responded trying to hide his desperation. Viren hugged Virat and both the brothers turn to walk back to the room when Virat whispered to Viren "Was it that obvious?" "Kya?" Viren asked. "Uff bhai, my feelings for your Saali" Virat replied. "Bhai huh tera!" Viren chuckled and continued walking while being proud of convincing skills as lawyer. Manvi obviously mellowed to  Jeevika's request, she would actually date an alien for her Di what is Chep compare to that.

Viren and Jeevika left for their Valentine date while Virat and Manvi left in pretense of shopping. Everybody was busy with their work to actually realize something fishy was going on. Virat dressed in his best to impress his Bandariya especially when he was aware of the existence of his competition.  He was looking dashing in his smart casual white linen shirt with jeans, while Manvi was stunning with pink designer kurti and black leggings courtesy of Viren for his dear Saali. Virat was smitten by her but he managed to remain cool despite drooling over her inside.  Manvi was silent throughout the journey and her silence was killing him.  "Could you please pass me your remote" he finally broke the ice. "What remote?" she shot him back. "Oh! So you are not in silence mode…. I thought you accidentally went into silent mode and didn't know how to tune back to normal so I decided to help you" he mocked her. "Was that a JOKE Virat Singh Vandhera???? And what am I suppose to do??? Laugh??? Sorry, I don't know how to pretend to laugh at lame jokes" she mocked back. "Man, she is still mad at me!" he thought to himself. "Dekho Manvi, with the pace we are moving the night is gonna be a misery for both of us. Tummara gusha chooda yaar, lets enjoy the dinner yaar. Please Manvi" Virat pleaded. "Sorry Virat, unfortunately I don't have split personality like you. I can't be normal one minute and burst out in anger another minute and then pretend nothing has happened the next minute. Yeh mujhe paar nahi hoga. I agreed for this dinner plan for the sake of Di and Jiju. That's all, let's get over the stupid dinner over and get on with our life" she answered him. He could feel the pain and the sarcasm in her voice and he knew she was not to be blamed. He mentally vowed to make it up to her by tonight. "Dude, your mission tonight is to bring back the Bandariya and her smile" he made a mental note.

"Welcome Mr & Mrs Vandhera" the waiter greeted them as they entered the restaurant. Manvi wanted to rebut him when Virat held her hand to stop her. He signaled to her that they are pretending to be Viren & Jeevika today. She understood and acknowledged the greetings. It was weird that they felt awkward pretending to be their sibling for the second time after the Rishikesh fiasco when they pulled it so well during the first attempt. The restaurant was lid with candles to create the romantic ambiance. Manvi nearly tripped while walking in the dim light but Virat manage to hold on time. "Careful Mrs Vandhera" he whispered to her and she shoot him her killer look.  "They can afford to charge a bomb but can't even provide proper lighting in the restaurant" she cursed softly but loud enough for Virat to chuckle as he pulled her chair. "What is so funny?" she probed him. "Kuch nahi Bandariya, the restaurant owner would have died of heart attack if he heard your comments. The poor fella tried to create romantic ambiance and here you are cursing them about not providing proper lighting. Tooda romantic mood meh aaja meri Bandariya" he smirked while he took his seat. "Romantic mere joote. The place is so dark, you won't even know whether you are seating with your partner and what the hell they are serving you on your plate" she mocked again. "Oye deft footiya, can't you think of anything else besides food. About not knowing your partner, I'm not sure about others but I won't be able to miss you even if it was pitch dark" he replied her with his mischievous grin. She was too busy cursing to realize the hidden meaning Virat's statement.

Manvi was sighed in relieve that it was Indian restaurant instead of Chinese or Continental else she would have to endure the torture of eating something that she despise as Virat proceed to order their dinner. Manvi was twisting the napkin in irritation as wait for their dinner to be served that seemed almost eternal. "Oye mere bookhi sherni, please spare the poor napkin from your torture" Virat finally broke the silence as she hardly uttered a single word since they were seated.  "Shall I twist your neck instead?" she shoots him back. "Baas meri maa, I can take it any longer. I know you are still mad at me for last week's incident". "You expect me to be in love with you after what happened last week" she interrupted Virat before he could complete. It only hit her on what she actually said when she saw the mischievous grin Virat was giving her. She mentally slammed her head for speaking before thinking again. "Dekho Manvi, I'm really sorry for what happened that day. I'm really sorry and I really mean it yaar. Please mujhe maaf kaaro" he pleaded while pulling his ears and giving his most angelic smile.  Manvi instantly melted in his smile, her anger vanished into thin air but she wasn't going to give in easily. She folded her arms pretending to be still angry. "Manvi, do you want me to go on my knees to beg forgiveness?" he pleaded again pretending to get up. "Chep hoh tum? You want to embarrass me in front of this entire crowd?" she quickly stopped him. "Acha, so you are more concern about the embarrassment I would cause you instead of sincerity of my apology" Virat replied with solemn voice pretending to hurt but he was delighted to hear her call him "Chep". He knew her anger was gone the moment she addressed him as "Chep" but decided to play along with her. "Mera matlab woh nahi tak…." she stumbled for words. "Phir kya matlab tah tumara" he asked her. "Kuch nahi, you are forgiven Chep. Ab khushi?" she exclaimed. "Such meh?" he requested for confirmation. "Hain baba, mere kasam" she replied as her lips curved into a smile. "Then will you be my Valentine for today?" he asked the million dollar question. Manvi was speechless while Virat took out the small box from his pocket and handed to her, "Please bestow your grace upon my token of apology Mere Bhabi Ki Behna" he told her. Manvi was too stunned to react until he nudged her to accept the gift. "Virat, yeh gift aur mere liya? But I don't have any for you…" she finally spoke. "Tell me you will be my Valentine tonight; that is my best gift of the night" he assured her. "Come on, open your gift and let me know how it is?" he told her.

She slowly opened the box and was impressed with the beautiful earring he got her; it was simple yet so exquisite. She was indeed impressed with his choice. "Thank you Virat, it is really beautiful but I don't think I can accept such an expensive gift" she told him.  "Shhh… I don't want to hear any explanation. If you have really forgiven me, then accept it…. " he told her. She nodded hesitantly. "Come on, try it on" he urged her. "Now …. Here?  I already have my earrings on. "she answered him. "Well, you can always remove your earring and try this on. I m sure it is not that difficult to change a pair of earring" he questioned her. Manvi excused herself to the ladies and changed the earrings. The earring complemented her so perfectly; she couldn't help admiring herself in the mirror. Virat was proud of his choice, he didn't know whether the earring complemented her or she complemented it but it was perfect. Both of them enjoyed their dinner while Manvi shared with him how she and Jeevika celebrate their Valentine together in Rishikesh. Virat excused himself to settle the bill and whispered something to the waiter. The waiter was perplexed as Virat spoke and finally nodded. Minutes later, the waiter passed Virat a bag.

As they were about to leave, the manager requested them to stay longer as they will be opening the dance floor shortly. Virat politely declined saying they have other plans lined up. "I wonder how these people will dance without tripping over in this dark" she naively asked Virat as they walked out. "Of course they will have the dance light on Bandariya" he chuckled at her. "Chep, what is in the bag? Why the waiter looked so puzzled and where are we going now? Di and Jiju are not due to return till 11 pm and we are suppose to wait for them na?" She asked him as he drove. "All your questions will be answered soon, now let me concentrate on the road Bandariya" he told her. After almost an hour, they reached their destination. "Virat, where are we going? The place looks so deserted." she asked him.  "I'm not going to kill you, just follow me" he assured her sensing her worries. Manvi's leg froze and she was stunned with what she saw.

The lake looked so scenic under the moonlight. It was so serene except for the cold breeze that blew and the trees that danced like maiden to Mother Nature's rhythm. "Chalo Manvi" Virat nudged her breaking, stirring her from her amazement. "This place is awesome Virat, I didn't know such a place exist in Chandigarh! " she finally spoke. "It is indeed beautiful, I always come here whenever I need solitude" he told her. "Now we are going to celebrate Valentine's Day your style Bandariya" Virat announced as he bent down to take for something from the bag that was given by the waiter earlier. "My style of Valentine Day?" she wondered. Virat lit the tea candle on a ceramic plate, decorated it with some rose petals and handed it to her. "I know I can't bring Ganga ghat to Chandigarh and there is no diya here, so lake and candles in substitute. I'm sure your parents will accept it yaar" he told her. Tears flow from her eyes as she stood watching him in amazement. She randomly shared with him on how she has enjoyed Valentine celebration over the years with her Di just hours ago and here he is trying to fulfill it for her. "Oye Bandariya, kaha ko gayi?" his voice startled her. She took the candle from his hand but still stood there speechless. Virat had another set of candle as well. "Another one? What is that for Virat?" she asked him. "That is for my dad, something that I learned from you. Ab chalo" he answered while walking towards the lake, gesturing her to follow. They both silently spoke to their demised parents and let the candle go on the lake. Virat placed his hand on her shoulder, "You look very scary when you cry Bandariya, please don't scare me any further" he joked to cheer Manvi.

Virat guided her back to the car but instead of the getting into the car he helped her to sit on the car bonnet. "Ab ek aur bhi surprise baaki hai" he announced. Virat emerged with 2 kulfi packed in the icebox from the restaurant. Manvi was totally swept off her feet by Virat's surprise. He joined her on the car and handed the kulfi to her. "Happy Valentine Bandariya" he whispered to her in his husky voice. Manvi's check turned pink to match her kurthi. "Happy Valentine Chep" she replied shyly. They spend hours talking until Viren texted them. Both of the happily drove back to meet Viren and Jeevika as planned. Manvi never thought her Valentine would be so special without her Di and she owed it all to her Chep. Virat was contented to see the smile on his Bandariya's face, he was glad that he has successfully passed his first hurdle in impressing her.

VirMan : Almost Heaven (Part 20)

Virat didn't know whether to scream his lungs out or cry his heart out. There was turmoil of emotions within him, despite knowing the intentions behind her action; his heart refuses to accept the reality. He knows that her actions were justified from her viewpoint and nothing precedes her Di in this world but at the same time, nothing takes precedence over her when it comes to him. He knew that as days pass, he was becoming more vulnerable towards his fear of losing Manvi. He is unable to remain stoic and Manvi never fails to notice it. Virat followed the trails of his leg aimlessly, he was in verge of breaking and all attempts to get a grip of him were in vain. His eyes grew wider and his expression hardened as he saw the sight in front of his eyes. He couldn't believe that he trailed back to the very same spot that he was at earlier in the morning with Manvi; the mandir. Unlike earlier, now there was no more anger left in him; in fact there was nothing left in him. Neither anger nor despair, he felt as if there was only vacuity within him. He felt his legs weakening and he fell on his knees before Him. "I don't understand you or your game plan. Why do you have to prove your existence by making the possible to impossible and impossible to possible? But I must say that you are indeed the master of your game; because you have struck the very chord which instantly brought me to your feet helplessly. Something that you failed to achieve when you took my dad away, my passion away, my career away, my future away. All those only manage to dispirit me yet not my pride. Today you are staking my most valued possession, something that means more than my life, mera pyar, mera jaan, mera dhadkan, mera Manvi... I would gamble my life with you not hers and if my defeat is what makes you happy, then here I'm...The same Virat Vandhera who never bowed to you even at his worst time is now right in front of you begging for his love. I can withstand if you snatch everything that I own including my life but not my Manvi. I'm nothing without her...Please give me back my love" Virat finally broke down in front of Him.

Viren and Jeevika decided to inform the rest of the family on the news about Jeevika being Manvi's donor. Viren wanted to do it himself as he wasn't sure of the response of his family and he didn't want Jeevika to be troubled by their reaction but she was adamant to be with him. They slowly walked to the living room where the rest of the family was discussing about their day after dinner. Jeevika clutched Viren's hand as they neared. There was an unknown fear; the fear of rejection from the family twitching knots in her stomach. Despite the full support from her husband, she was worried of the acceptance of the rest of the family members especially Dadaji and Swamini bua. Viren understood his wife's predicament and assured her, "Everything will be fine Jeevika. Main hoon na". Swamini bua was delighted to see Viren and Jeevika joining them in their evening chat, something that was missing in the family off late. Dadaji inquired about Manvi after Viren and Jeevika settled on the couch; "Jeevika beta, Manvi ki tabiat ab kaise hai?" Dadaji's question finally gave them opening that both were waiting to break the news. "Well Dadaji, there has been vast progress in Manvi's health and we have another good news to share about it. Finally Dr Shashank has found the suitable bone marrow donor for Manvi and if everything turns out well, her bone marrow treatment will begin soon." Viren finally announced the news to the entire family. There was a sign of relieve in everyone's face, "Yeh to bahut ache baat hai. We have all been praying for Manvi's recovery and this is a positive sign beta." Dadaji replied in joy. "Haan babuji, I totally agree with you." Swamini bua added. "Viren beta, make sure all the necessary arrangement are made. Please ensure the donor is all comfortable and no inconvenience is caused to the donor and family" Dadaji instructed. Viren took a deep sigh and replied, "Usko koi zarurat nahi Dadaji. Woh donor aur koi nahi; woh donor Jeevika tah" Viren finally revealed the truth. Grimness overshadowed everyone's expression when they heard the truth as if it was almost impossible to churn the truth that they heard. The vestige of doubts slowly faded as Viren explained the procedure details to his family. Jeevika remained quiet yet she didn't fail to study everyone's expression including Swamini bua's. Everyone seemed to be almost convinced except for bua, her doubts and disagreement was evident in her eyes although she hasn't expressed them. Dadaji who seemed averse initially seem to see the rationale behind her husband's explanation. Neither did he object nor did he give his concern.

The whole living room was enveloped in silence, nobody dared to express their opinion before Dadaji. The silence was torturing for Jeevika and somehow bothered her slightly. "How can one expect a stranger to volunteer to be a donor when her own family doesn't support it" she thought to herself. Unable to endure it any longer, she finally broke the silence startling everyone including Viren. "Dadaji, Buaji I can understand your concerns regarding my decision to be Manvi's donor but I just need your empathy; to understand my decision" Jeevika spoke. "But Jeevika, don't you think that you are being too compulsive in your actions and decisions whenever it revolves around Manvi? Don't you think that your love for your sister is overshadowing your responsibilities as the bahu of this house? " Swamini questioned Jeevika. "I can't deny the fact that I have neglected my responsibilities as a wife and bahu yet no one showed any resentment towards me and I know that a mere apology will not do justice for it. When Dadaji asked me whether my decisions in life will be based on love or responsibility back in Mussoorie, I assured him that my responsibility will precede love in my life. Even today, my decision still abides to my assurance that I gave; responsibility. My responsibility as a sister over her dying sister; a responsibility that was bestowed by God the day Manvi was born as my sister. I'm fulfilling my promise that I made to my parents on their deathbed, my vouch to protect Mannu when I accepted her Rakhi. I don't mean to be rude but even if the procedure was dangerous, I would have still insisted on being a donor because if I didn't die while saving Mannu; I would definitely die out of the guilt of not trying to save her when I had a chance." tears choked her as she spoke. Viren held Jeevika's shoulders in support; his family was dumbstruck as they witnessed the other side of Jeevika that only he and Virat have seen.

"Badi Ma, for once I have to disagree with you about Jeevika neglecting her duties as a wife. Even in the midst of Manvi's illness, she never once failed to attend to my needs.  Even if she did, I wouldn't complaint as I never expected Jeevika to sever all her responsibilities at her maternal and devote herself to me just because she is married to me. In fact, I really wonder whether I would be able juggle my responsibilities if I was in her shoes. If it was Virat or myself in Manvi's place, will we still be having this conversation?" Viren stepped in for Jeevika which took Swamini off guard. "Viren, my concern is not about impartiality between Manvi and the rest but a major decision is taken without even consulting us. This is not the norm in Vandhera house and you should have known this better than anyone else." Swamini retorted. "Badi Ma, we don't have the luxury of time to debate as this is a matter of life and death. With her recent health complication, every minute counts. If ever anything happens to Manvi, we will be losing more than mere life in our family" Viren explained with tinge of irritation in his voice. "Swamini beta, the urgency of the issue precedes the family norm. Furthermore, if Viren has no objection against Jeevika being a donor; I don't see any reason for any of us to object it. The procedure deemed safe and the Manvi's recovery is what matters the most." Dadaji tried to assure Swamini but she was still not swayed and left in annoyance. "Jeevika beta, Swamini koh bura mat sochana. She has been a woman of principle and never bends it for anyone. Give her time and she will understand you" Dadaji comforted Jeevika. "Dadaji, I totally understand Buaji's feelings and reaction. She has always wanted the best for the family and especially for Virenji, and we all know that she will not tolerate anything that may jeopardize it. She is in the same shoes as me, I will go any extend to ensure Manvi is fine and I believe Buaji will also go to the same extend for Virenji's happiness." Jeevika replied. Swamini's anger vanished when she overheard Jeevika's reply. Tears escaped from her eyes after years as she slowly walked into her room, she realized that she could have never found a better bahu for the family besides Jeevika.

Virat found himself breaking down, pouring his heart out and confessing his deepest fear at place that he least expected; in front of Him in his Mandir. Virat felt calmed and light; although this didn't change his perception on Him but it definitely made a positive step towards rebuilding his trust.  His love has brought twists that he least expected in his life, he wondered what else will he being doing for his Bandariya. The word Bandariya struck him that he walked out of Manvi in anger, he immediately rushed back to her room. He cursed himself for losing his temper at her despite knowing her condition. Virat slowly opened her room door, not wanting to wake her as it way past her bedtime. Her room lights were still on, he guessed that she must have fallen asleep while surfing since the notebook was still on next to her. He slowly moved the notebook away and was about to shut it down when he realized that the slideshow of their photos were playing. His lips curved into smile as he saw their photos, his priceless collection of their most precious moments together. He has managed to capture so many candid shots of her and it always irked her whenever he clicked her pictures without her concern; she has always wanted to look good while he always wanted the moments behind it. He was about to tuck her to bed properly when he realize that she was clutching something close to her heart. He slowly removed her grip on the metal frame expecting to see picture of her with Bhabhi but was surprised to find a portrait of both of them taken during bhabi & bhai's engagement.

"Virat'. " she murmured in her sleep the moment she felt the frame slipping away from her hands . "Shhh'. I'm here Manvi. Ab soh jao" Virat whispered as he caressed her hair, coaxing her to sleep. His voice immediately woke Manvi from her sleep and she held his hand tightly. "Kya hua Manvi? Koi bura sapna dheeka?" Virat was alarmed by her reaction. "Kaha ho tum? You know how long I waited for you to return. You know that I don't sleep without seeing you and yet you left me alone!" Manvi sobbed like a child between her anger. Virat pulled her into his arms, wrapping her into his hug. "I'm sorry Manvi.  I didn't mean too' Sorry partner, I'm really sorry" Virat apologized. They were cozy in each other's arms for a long time; comforting each other in silence. "Virat' " Manvi finally broke the silence between them. "Hmm Manvi' Bolo" Virat replied. "I'm sorry Virat' I also need you to promise me something?" Manvi asked. "Sorry kyu aur kaisa promise Manvi?" he asked hesitantly. "No matter how much we fight or argue, no matter how angry we are at each other, we should resolve it by end of the day. Don't deprive me of seeing the love in your eyes when you kiss me good night and the smile in face when you wish me good morning. I never thought that I will be saying this to anyone else besides Di but I can't live without you Virat. Can you promise me that Virat? Please'." Manvi asked him.

Manvi's words pierced him, instead of being with her at the moment she needed his support; he let his anger and emotions overrule him again. He was responsible for her tears today, yet she was apologizing to him. His guilt, rolled out as tears from him and Virat held her closer for support. Manvi sensed Virat's repentance so she hugged him back, stroked his back to comfort him, to relieve him from his guilt instead of urging him for answer. He finally got a grip of himself, took a deep breath and slowly broke away from her hug, met her gaze and gave her the assurance that he is ok before he spoke. "Manvi, I owe you a few apologies" he started. She tried to shush him but he stopped her. "Manvi, please don't stop me" he insisted. "Manvi, Sorry for losing my temper on several occasions today. The fear of losing you has grown so much that even the slightest indication of it just agitates me. Whenever our priorities cross, my possessiveness over you precedes my logical mind to think. I promised you that I will be with you throughout this battle and today I will reassure that I will stand by your decision whatever it is. Bhabhi and I can force the treatment on you but I know that the whole procedure will go futile if your mind is not in it. I'm sorry Manvi, I'm really sorry yaar" he apologized.
Manvi cupped his face in her palms, "Virat, you don't need to be sorry or guilty of your actions. We were both impulsive in our actions and blinded by our love. It is alright to be angry and shout our lungs out at each other and get over it once and for all. What I can't stand is when it prolongs.  I didn't mean to hurt you or make you guilty but I just want you to know that I love you as much as I love Di. Just like how I can't withstand Di being sad or angry, I also can't stand your pain or anger Virat "she explained to Virat. "I love you too Manvi. I promise you that no matter what happens between us, no matter how much we fight and argue; before the stroke of midnight, we will make up in each other's arms just like this. Mere kasam Manvi" Virat promised her and kissed her forehead. She finally saw a genuine smile on his face and that was enough to bring back her smile.  "Listen Manvi, it has been a long day for both of us, now be a good girl and get back to sleep." Virat instructed Manvi. "Virat, I want to be in your arms tonight'. Please don't say NO partner" she made puppy face and begged him.  It was almost impossible for Virat to deny her request; even he didn't feel like letting her off as well. "Your wish is my command Madam'" he smirked while making her comfortable on the bed as she rested her head on his chest and he settled next to her.

"Virat, you haven't told me where were you all this while? " she asked him as he tried to make her sleep. "Make a wild guess" he challenged her. "Hmmm let me see, our favorite spot in the garden?" she guessed. "I anticipated that from you but unfortunately you are wrong." He replied her. "But you always go there whenever you are angry or sad!" she argued. "Yes Manvi, that's where I always end up but not today. Somehow I ended up at the place that I least expected to be." He replied building the suspense. "Virat, stop the puzzle, tell me where were you?" she demanded unable to tolerate the suspense. "The very same place we were together in the morning, in the Mandir. I had a long session with your Bhagawanji. Not the friendly wala like yours, but it was more matured and serious discussion" he revealed. Manvi was elated as she heard Virat narrate his story.  "See I told you nah, Bhagawanji will always listen to me "she exclaimed happily.  Virat silently hoped that He will fulfill his one and only request.

Dr Shashank came earlier than usual to check on Manvi, he saw Virat and Manvi were engaged in serious discussion as he entered. "Sorry to interrupt both of you, but I decided to check on Manvi earlier today and also to discuss about her treatment as well" Dr Shashank explained. "Actually Dr Shashank, even I wanted to discuss with you about the treatment. In fact, I wanted to discuss about it without Di's presence as well" Manvi replied. Virat decided to leave so that Manvi can discuss her concerns freely with Dr Shashank , he didn't want her decision to be influenced by his reaction. Manvi held Virat's hand as she saw him moving away from her. "Virat, I wanted to discuss without Di's presence not yours. I want you to be here with me" she requested. Virat briefly nodded and sat next to her. Manvi took a deep breath, held his hand for support and finally spoke "Dr Shashank, I have read about the treatment and procedure yesterday. I may not understand the full details on it but it did give me some insides of the whole process. I'm ready for the treatment but I have a small request as well. I hope you could really consider it." Manvi explained. "What kind of request Manvi?" Dr Shashank asked her. "Well I know that there are two options to the treatment, either to perform the bone marrow transplant or PBSCT. Although Di will be under anesthesia but I have experienced the pain of bone marrow extraction. I definitely don't want anyone to go through such excruciating pain in their life and definitely not Di. Could we just opt for PBSCT instead Dr?" she finally explained her request. Dr Shashank smiled and replied her" Manvi, I have seen so many patients in my service but never once anyone close to you. Even at the most critical stage, your concern for others are greater than the pain that you are going thru. Now coming to your request, well even I have PBSCT in my mind. Firstly, your body is still weak and I don't think it will be able to withstand the bone marrow transplant operation. The PBSCT will be the best option in your case because we can actually monitor your body acceptance to the treatment."  Dr Shashank's explanation cleared all her doubts and she felt relieved. "Well in that case, I shall speak to Jeevika and Viren about her preparation for the treatment today. If everything turns well, we can start Jeevika's treatment tomorrow." Dr Shashank informed Manvi. She nodded in acknowledgement. "Manvi, don't worry. You have been a great fighter and this is the final round. Be positive and both of you and Jeevika will be fine. Very soon you will be walking out of this hospital in perfect health" he assured Manvi just before leaving.

VirMan : Almost Heaven (Part 19)

The rays of dawn caressed her face; she welcomed and embraced the new day in her life with smile and hope. She promised herself that she will welcome each day with smile and hope as she didn't know whether she will be able to see tomorrow. Her eyes immediately searched for Virat. The sight of him brought smile to her face; he must have fallen asleep while he tried to rekindle with his long jilted books. The study light was still on, the book lays open across his broad chest while one arm supported the book, the other resting comfortably on the opposing upper arm to cradle his head. He looked handsome even while sleeping; it was bliss to see him sleep soundly as she could have imagined the sleepless nights he endured because of her, her hands longed to reach out to him, to caress him and feel him but she couldn't. The treatment and strong dosage of medicines and drugs has weakened her body over time but not her spirit nor determination, so her eyes trailed and caressed Virat's face instead of her fingers. Suddenly Manvi's room door opened, stirring her. The nurse was about to greet Manvi when she immediately signaled her to be quiet and pointed to Virat sleeping. She knows that Virat is a light sleeper and even the slightest noise will wake him up. The nurse smiled and nodded, she tried to work as softly as possible; she helped Manvi off her bed and freshens up. "He hardly sleeps whenever he is with you" the nurse whispered to Manvi. "I know, I can't recall when was the last time I saw him sleeping. He is always awake when I fall asleep at night and when I wake up the next day morning" Manvi replied. "You are so lucky to have someone like him who loves you very much" the nurse added. Manvi smiled but hoped that she could love him back as much as he did.

Soft whispers roused Virat from his slumber; he couldn't recall when he actually dozed off. He stretched and his half opened eyes searched for Manvi and he panicked when she was not on her bed. His worries faded away and he sighed in relief as he saw Manvi and the nurse coming out of the bathroom. He immediately greeted her with his smile trying to hide his worries but his expression didn't go unnoticed by Manvi. "How was your attempt to woo back your long-jilted law?" Manvi asked Virat after the nurse left. "Well, it was quite difficult initially but I managed it well. I have to say it was definitely easier compare to you!" he replied while giving her his trademark eyebrow raise. "Mr Virat Singh Vandhera, What in the world made you think wooing Manvi Choudrary would be easy?" Manvi question him back. "Well I have to say that I really underestimated my Bandariya" he admitted while letting Manvi enjoy the triumph of winning over him. "Virat, tum theek hai? Chandigarh's upcoming lawyer is letting go of his argument so easily, letting me win so easily" Manvi smirked at him. "What makes you think I'm losing Bandariya?" he quizzed her back. "Duh! If I win, obviously you lose nah" she replied him back. "That depends on how you define my victory. If you consider winning the argument is victory then I lose but my true happiness, ultimate victory is bring the smile on your face, the spark in your eyes, the glee in your voice. For that, I'm ever willing to lose to you for the rest of my life" he replied her leaving her speechless. She was again floundered for words, the spark in her eyes were slowly overshadowed by her tears. "Aaah ahhh, no rona dona ok. I think the medications have mellowed down my sherni into a drama queen or more like rona queen lately" he said as his arms encircle her into hug.

"So what do you feel like doing today? Miss your nature talk?" he asked her, breaking the silence lingering between them. "Virat, I want to go to the Mandir" she replied. Virat was surprised, "Manvi, I can't take you out from the hospital. Dr Shashank will never agree to it and you are not..." he stopped. "Not fit" she completed for him. "Virat, I know..." she answered while breaking away from his arms."I'm not asking you to take me out of the hospital; I heard that there is a small Mandir within the hospital. Take me there" she pleaded to him but there was no reply. "Virat, you can't bring everything to me and one of them is this. I know God is everywhere but I want to talk to Him in his place, in his Mandir. After all it is a huge wish that I'm going to ask him today" she added. Virat never hesitated to fulfill any of her wish but he hesitated for this. Fate was playing its game by bringing him back to the same place he questioned His existence when he discovered Manvi's illness. Now she wants him to accompany her to the same place and he knew what her wish will be. She has never asked anything for herself from God all this while and today is not going to be any different. She is going to wish for him and his happiness. "Virat... Please... "she pleaded again, breaking him away from his thoughts. He nodded, finally giving in to her wish.

Manvi was excited as he wheeled her to the Mandir, the place that he avoided for months. His faith on Him slowly faded along with the hope in his life and slightest faith left on Him shattered completely on that very day he heard about her illness. He let her spend some time in solitary in the Mandir while he waited outside; he managed to excuse himself in the pretense of attending a call. He decided to wait till she is done, the same way he does whenever he takes his Ma to the Mandir. The Mandir was not majestic as compared Rishikesh but it gave her same serenity and rejuvenation of her soul and body, she felt surge of hope rising in her. Manvi couldn't thank God enough for blessing her with so much of love and affection despite her illness, for showing her that there is more to life besides Rishikesh and her Di after her parent's demise.

"Bhagwanji, the more Di and Virat shower me with love; the stronger my desire to live grows. Please grant me a chance to repay at least an ounce of the love that they are showering me. Virat pretends to be strong in front of me but who knows him better if not for both of us Bhagwan ji? He breaks and shatters every time I flinch in pain yet he fakes a smile just to make me feel better. What did I do to deserve such a guy in my life, his whole life revolves around me, he decides to pursue law just to prove to the world that he is worthy for me, he dedicates his music to me. He makes me feel so special. Unfortunately what did he do to deserve someone like me, a girl who is uncertain of her own future, whom in returns gives him nothing but pain? He tries to convince me that my memories and love is sufficient for him to carry on but it is not fair Bhagwanji. Everyone deserves happiness and love in their life, especially Virat. I'm not a Mahan here but a typical possessive girlfriend!  There is no way I will let go of Virat to another girl, I won't wish for another girl to fill my place because we both know there is no one else like Manvi Choudrary. So Bhagwanji, there is not much of choice besides letting me live a bit longer. Long enough to see Di and Jeeju celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, see my nieces and nephews growing up and getting married, long enough to drive my Chep crazy, long enough to see who gets the first wrinkle, who grays first; either Virat or me, long enough for Virat to be bored of me. For once, I'm wishing something for myself for the sake of Di & Virat. Bhagwanji, I hope you get the message nah... Ok enough of my ranting; Bhagawanji, looks like both of you have some issues as well else Virat won't pretending to answer his call for so long so it is time to patch up you and Virat" Manvi communed with Him.

Virat has seen his ma, chachi and even his bhabhi praying but Manvi was nowhere close to them. It felt like she was having a chat with her long lost buddy instead of praying. Well again, how could he expect the usual from his Bandariya. Suddenly he sensed that Manvi was looking for him, so he rushed to her side. "Shall we?" he asked while he was about to wheel her back. "Virat, ruko." she called out holding his hand. "Since you're in the Mandir, aren't you going to pray?" she asked him. "Nah Manvi, it is ok." he tried to shrug off her question but she was not ready to let him go. "Tum duno ki beech jagada hua?" she asked him. Her question caught him off-guard, "Hum duno?" he reconfirmed whether he heard her correctly as he pointed to both of them. "Uff, hum duno nahi. Tum duno!!" she corrected him pointing to Virat and Him. He knew that she has caught him red handed and was already scrutinizing his expression. Although he knew there was no point lying to her but he decided to try his luck anyway. "Manvi, I may not be in such a good terms with Him compare to you; to have a long casual chats but there is no such thing as fight between us. I mean me and Him; we just deal things differently." he lied. "Acha, you expect me to believe that?" she snapped back at him.

Virat knelt down next to her, held her hands in his and finally spoke "Manvi, there have been series of incidents that happened in my life that which made me lost my faith in Him. That is all, no dramatic fight like you imagined. "Virat, can I ask you something?" she asked him. Virat nodded and she continued, "Series of incidents in your life made you lose your hope on Him but are you telling me nothing happened in your life after that to reinstate your faith on Him? Or where you blinded by your anger that you failed to see it? "she questioned him. He sensed the tartness in her voice but he didn't have an answer for her questions. "Virat, if anyone between both of us had the right to be angry at Bhagwanji it will be me not you. Yet, am I angry? No! It is not because I trust him blindly but I always believe that everything happens for a reason. It may seem unfavorable initially but everything happens for good. My parents left me when I needed them most but in return he gave me something equally precious as them, my Di. He gave us Badi Beeji, Beeji, Chacha, Chachi and Dabbu who loves me and Di unconditionally. When Di got married and left, I thought I lost my best friend, my Di; that was when He gave me you. You were the next very person who understood me after Di; you were my best friend, my partner. When He gave me cancer, when I was in verge of giving up; He gave me hope, He gave me love, and He gave me you Virat. Even at the worst moment of my life, He gave me the best. The only difference, I tried to see the positivity that emerged from everything which you refused. So I will only be grateful to Bhagwanji no matter what happens, even at my last breath..." she completed her sentence even before he could stop her.

Virat had nothing to argue, everything she said made sense. She saw silver lining behind every dark clouds and rejoiced it while he failed. He may agree that Maya and despair she caused him actually molded him, guided him to his true love, made him see beyond the materialism, grasp meaning of life and love. Manvi's illness revelation was a reality checks for everyone especially him. Despite the fact that her cancer did bring them closer, salvaged him of his haunting past, thought him meaning of life yet he couldn't succumb to reality and the fear of losing her. Although he has not said it loud but he couldn't imagine how his life would be without her. His silence tormented Manvi, "Virat... "she called out his name, breaking him from his thoughts. Virat looked up at her blankly. His silence made Manvi realizes that she maybe the reason. "Virat, I just hope that you're not angry with Him because of me. If that is the reason, I will never be able to forgive myself for it. Samjha?" she snapped him back to reality, Virat then grasped that she was truly hurt behind the anger that she is trying to fake. He firmed his grip on her hand, "My mind was fogged with my emotions, thanks for clearing it for me as usual" he explained. "Then, say sorry!" she instructed. "Ok meri ma, I'm sorry!" he professed while holding his ears down in apology to her. "Uff, you are a complete Buddhu. Not to me, to Him!" she said pointing to His direction. "I have heard of devil's advocate...What are you! God's advocate?" he chuckled. "Do as I say or ..." she stuck her tongue out. Virat shook his head in disbelief; he turned towards Him and mouthed "I'm sorry Bhagawanji" as he held both his ears down in apology to satisfy her. "Ab khushi?" he asked her and Manvi nodded. He then wheeled her back to her room; both of them were immersed in their own thoughts. Virat pretended that his faith was reinstated just to make Manvi happy while Manvi knew that he only did that to make her happy but nothing has changed between him and Bhagwanji yet she was happy that she took the first step. She was sure that Virat will understand and change his perception sooner or later.

Shortly after their return, Jeevika, Beeji and Viren arrived at the hospital. Although Beeji was surprised to see Virat with Manvi but she kept mum. The smile on her granddaughter's face was far more priceless that anything else for her. The brothers were about leave; to give the ladies the privacy they needed when Dr Shashank arrived with a wide grin. "Great to see all of you here, I have good news for all of you." he announced. "The results just arrived and we are lucky that we found a match for Manvi. Jeevika's is a perfect match with Manvi, I just need to run a few more test to finalize everything. Viren and Jeevika, I hope you can stop by my cabin later so that I can explain the procedure and the rest of the formalities in detail" Dr Shashank explained. Jeevika was beaming in joy and tears of joy were flowing from her eyes, Beeji knelt down to say her gratitude to God while the brothers hugged in relief but Manvi was quiet. "Dr Shashank, can you please explain everything here instead of your cabin. I would like to know everything about the procedure and the risk" Manvi's question startled everyone especially Dr Shashank as she was never so intrigued on her treatments and risk before. Virat sensed the seriousness in her voice and he knew instantly knew what was brewing in her mind. "Manvi, due to the close match between Jeevika's and your DNA, I'm positive that it will be successful" Dr Shashank explained. "Dr, I was referring to the risk for Di. I want to know every single detail of the procedure and the risk for Di" she explained herself leaving everyone else speechless.

Jeevika tried to intervene but Manvi was determined with her decision, "Di, I will not agree for this procedure and treatment until I'm sure that you will be alright. I will not agree for the transplant if it endangers you or may cause future complications. Di, I rather ..." she stammered when Virat interrupted. "Baas Manvi! Don't you dare complete your statement" Virat retorted. His barbed tone sent shivers to Manvi and the rest in the room but Manvi tried to look unaffected. "Dr Shashank, can you accommodate Manvi's request?" Virat continued trying to suppress his anger in his tone but Manvi could see the fury in his eyes. She knows Virat was vexed with her talking about her death twice today but nothing will precede her priorities with her Di even if it is her life.

Dr Shashank agreed and begins to explain; everyone listen attentively to his explanation except Virat. Although Manvi didn't meet Virat's gaze, she knew that his gaze never left her and his gawk was dissecting her moves. "Manvi, the procedure is known as allogeneic stem cell transplant; where the stem cells come from patient's family who has the closest match. Bone marrow transplantation and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) are two options to restore stem cells. Donating bone marrow is a surgical procedure done under general or regional anesthesia in a hospital. Doctors use needles to withdraw liquid marrow from the back of the pelvic bone while the donor is under anesthesia. PBSC donation is a non-surgical procedure where PBSC donors receive daily injections of a drug called filgrastim for five days, to increase the number of blood-forming cells in the bloodstream. Then, through a process called apheresis, a donor's blood is removed through a needle in one arm and passed through a machine that separates out the blood-forming cells. The remaining blood is returned to the donor through the other arm" Dr Shashank concluded.

"What about the side-effect and risk Dr?" Manvi enquired. "Well there is no medical procedure which is risk-free but from my experience, all my previous donors are back to their normal lifestyle within a month after the procedure. Anyways bone marrow donation is done under anesthesia so the donor experiences no pain during the collection procedure but there may be discomfort after the process which may vary individually. Most marrow donors experience some side effects such as lower back pain, fatigue, stiffness when walking, and bleeding at the collection site. Whereby PBSC donors may experience tingling sensation around their mouth, fingers and toes as well as mild muscle cramps. This is caused by the anti-coagulant (blood thinner) used in the apheresis procedure. These symptoms are easily treated by slowing down the procedure or giving the donor calcium. Less common side effects of the donation procedure are a decrease in the blood platelet count, lightheadedness and nausea. " Dr Shashank explained patiently to Manvi. When Manvi and the rest had no further doubts, Dr Shashank excused himself and left; leaving Manvi and the rest to digest the information. "Manvi, I have researched about the transplant and the success rate is very promising and trust me it is not going to harm Jeevika in any ways" Viren assured Manvi and left the room, dragging Virat along with him. Viren knew that Virat's resentment may intensify if he stays any longer.

"Manvi beta, everything will be alright. I will not let any harm near my two angels" Beeji finally broke the silence that was hovering the room as she hugged both Jeevika and Manvi. Jeevika was grateful that her prayers have been answered and she was determined to take all risk to make the transplant successful while Manvi decided otherwise. "Manvi, stop being mulish, I have been praying for this moment, a second chance for you. I rather die while saving you rather than regretting for the rest of my life for missing the chance that I had. This is my decision Mannu aur tum kuch nahi kahungi, meri kasam" Jeevika commanded Manvi. Virat never returned to her room till late evening, after Beeji and his bhabhi left home. Manvi was immersed on her iPad when he walked in; she only realized his presence as he kissed her forehead and gave her a faint smile. He got back to his books, letting her continue her surfing. He continued staring at the same page blankly, his mind was cluttered and nothing was making sense for him. "Virat, can I use your laptop for a while? Dabbu accidentally took my charger home and my battery is going to die off soon." Manvi's request woke him off his thoughts. Virat noticed the weariness in her as he helped to setup the laptop for her. "Manvi, you look tired. Why don't you take some rest?" he suggested. "Nah Virat, I'm perfectly fine. A bit more research to do, then I will rest" she promised. "Manvi, the procedure is completely safe for Bhabhi. She will be perfectly fine, trust me" he assured her.

Virat, I really need to be sure when it comes to Di" she replied him. Her answer miffed Virat, "Manvi, is that how much you trust me and the rest of us? Do you think I would stoop so low to jeopardize Bhabhi's life and Bhai's happiness just to save my love? I would rather walk together with you to face death than this. Our love has only thought me to me selfless not selfish. There is a folder on my notebook named 'Treatment'; it has all the clinical study, research and other information. If you still doubt that someone might have fabricated the content to make it favorable, then you can search them online" he raged out his feelings that was bottled up the whole day and walked out of the room. Manvi's was prepared to face his rage but what broke her was the pain she felt amidst of his outburst. She knew his outburst was out of his endless love for her, the very same reason behind her behavior and protectiveness over her Di. Manvi slowly browsed through the folders in Virat's laptop, she was thunderstruck to see endless list of files about Cancer and the treatments. It seems like a mini archive of Cancer research institute within his laptop. She slowly went through one by one, reading and trying to understand the content.

VirMan : Almost Heaven (Part 18)

Despite Manvi's request, Viren felt it was his utmost responsibility to inform Beeji and Chachu on Manvi's recent health condition and Dr Shashank's decision to stop her chemotherapy. The news left the old lady devastated and the whole family immediately rushed to Chandigarh to Manvi's side. Viren tried to calm her but her heart refuse to accept any consolation till she sees her granddaughter with her own eyes. He knew very well that the Choudary women may seem very poise and calm most of the time but when provoked; no force on earth can come on their way to bend their determination. Seeing Beeji reactions, he knew where Jeevika inherited her traits from.

Viren decided to consult with Dr Shashank with the arrival of the Choudary's to visit Manvi. The last thing he wanted is Manvi to get emotional and deteriorate her heart condition any further. Dr Shashank explained to Viren that Manvi's condition has shown vast improvement but she is still under cardiologist observation. He was assured that her family's visit wouldn't deteriorate her condition but he still wanted to meet them before he allow them to visit Manvi. He found this as the best time to explain to them about her bone marrow transplant as everyone was present, they can perform the test together with Jeevika and the results can be expedited instead of waiting for it from Rishikesh and Viren agreed.

The Choudary's, Jeevika, Viren and Virat was gathered in Dr Shashank's cabin as he begin to explain the process to search for the suitable bone marrow donor and the subsequent processes till the transplant. "But Dr Shashank, only Jeevika has the same blood group as Manvi among all of us. Will there be a possibility for match in our bone marrow? " Madan Chachu enquired "Well, you don't need to have the same blood group to be the donor, what we are looking for is the highest probability of match for HLA markers." Dr Shashank paused as he saw the puzzled faces. "Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) tissues are proteins or markers that are found on most cells in our body. Our immune system uses these markers to recognize which cells belong in our body and which do not. The closer the match between the patient's HLA markers and yours, the better it is for the patient. There are higher possibilities of match among siblings but we don't want to eliminate any possible match among the close family members as well. That was the reason why I requested everyone to go for test in Rishikesh but since everyone is here, we can just perform the test here. We just need to perform cheek swab to check on match, if there is any match then we will need to perform further test." he concluded his explanation. Although the medical terms were difficult to perceive but everyone understood the ultimate need for bone marrow donor and everyone silently prayed that theirs would match Manvi. "Please ensure Manvi doesn't get hyper or emotional as she is still recovering although she may feigned as if she is perfectly normal" he cautioned the rest while giving Virat the cue to ensure Manvi follows his instruction. He knows that only Virat can manage her in this situation and Virat nodded in assurance.

It was heart-warming to see the reunion of Manvi and the Choudary's. They kept their promise by avoiding melodramatic scenes but you could just feel their emotions filling the ambience. The brothers stood aside watching them, although the Choudary's were not financially sound but they were so rich in love. They showered everyone with so much of love, affection and happiness that money can't buy. When many believed that money ruled the world, the Choudary's ruled hearts with their love. "Manvi Di, do you know what happened yesterday?" Dabbu's voice intercepted the brothers from their thoughts. "Kya hua mere Dabba? Did u ransack any sweetshop on your own? "Manvi asked him with her impish smile. "Dabba nahi Dabbu aka Dabinder Singh Chaudary... "he exclaimed him name with pride. "Anyways Manvi Di, did you know that ever since you moved to Chandigarh I have doing something secretly every day. Yesterday something really special happened." Dabbu continued his story. Everyone was getting impatient with Dabbu's confession and Manvi never had patience when it came to her Dabbu "Oye Dabbu, tumara suspense jodo and mere Dabba jalti batoa warna mein tuje..." she motioned her hands to strangle him."Actually nah every evening I have been going to Ganga Ghat to light a diya for you. Whenever you and Jeevika Di wished for something, you always light diya and believe that it will be fulfilled. As usual, yesterday when I was lighting my diya for you and watched it flood along the waters, suddenly other diyas floated and surrounded your diya bringing a new glow to the darkness of the night. Then there was a Baba there who asked me what I wished for while lighting the diya. When I told him about you, he smiled and said that it was a good sign that my wish will be answered and you will be back to Rishikesh really soon. Tears glazed her eyes as she heard Dabbu speak. "So Manvi Di, don't you worry... Tum zaroor Rishikesh jalti laut ayonghi aur hameesha mera saath rahunghi. Mein tumara bodyguard banungi aur hameesha tumara saath rahungi! I will never let you out of my sight after that" he told her.

"Oye Dabbu, Manvi kyun hameesha tumara saath Rishikesh mein rahunghi aur Chandigarh kyun nahi?" Virat's question startled everyone including Manvi; she sensed the acid tone in his voice. "Kyunki Chandigarh Jeevika Di ka sasural aur Manvi di ki nahi. aur Manvi Di hamesha mera saath rahungi Virat bhaiya!" Dabbu answered back innocently. Viren sensed the possessiveness in both Virat and Dabbu's voice and decided to intervene. "Dabbu, agar tumara Manvi Di koh bhi shaadi hogaya toh woh bhi uske sasural jayongi nah. Virat ka matlab woh tah." Viren tried to pacify the over protective Dabbu from his brother's wrath. He could sense that even the thought of Manvi being away in Rishikesh is unbearable for Virat. "Jeeju, agar Manvi Di ko sasural jaana padega toh, mein uske ladka Rishikesh mein doodlugi, Chandigarh mein nahi. Then she can be in Rishikesh forever, kyunki Manvi di koh hameesha Rishikesh  paseen hain" Dabbu reasoned with Viren. "Kya iss Bandariya ko milega koi ladka Rishikesh mein?" Virat challenged him and only Manvi, Viren and Jeevika could sense the true meaning behind Virat's words while the Choudary's thought it was one of Virat's normal nok-jok with Dabbu. "Definitely Virat bhaiya, I have actually told all my friends to lookout for Manvi Di's dulha..." Dabbu answered when he felt a strong smack on his head. "Ouch Manvi Di, why did you hit me?" Dabbu sulked while rubbing the back of his head. "Stop all this bakwaas Dabbu and don't spoil my name in Rishikesh. I'm not in a rush for marriage and I don't trust your choice at all!" she jeered at him. "Don't worry Dabbu, I will find a perfect life partner for my Mannu just like your Jeeju when the time comes" Jeevika replied and winked at Virat. "A lawyer like Jeeju?" Dabbu intervened. "Not by profession Dabbu but based on his characteristic, someone who will always shower my Mannu with love and affection always" Jeevika explained. "Di, mera Jeeju is one of his kinds just like you Di and he is exclusively for you. Mera choice toh toda alak hai " Manvi smirked at Jeevika making her blush while she watched Virat from the corner of her eyes. It was not often that she gets to see her bodyguard Bhai and her overprotective partner argue over her and a smile curved on her face. It was almost evening when Vanshika Ma arrived and gave strict orders for everyone to go home and rest especially Jeevika and Virat while she stayed back with Manvi. Neither Jeevika nor Virat could argue and reluctantly obeyed her orders. Manvi thanked Vanshika Ma for accomplishing something that she failed to do.

"Badi Ma, is something wrong?" Viren voice broke Swamini from her train of thoughts that she was immersed in her thoughts in the study. She smiled as she saw Viren; he has never failed to bring the smile, the glow in her face. Viren sat next to her and asked her again "Badi ma, you look worried and disturbed. Is there anything that is bothering you?". "Nothing Viren, I was just lost in my thoughts. Anyways it has been ages since we actually chatted like this" she smiled and replied him. "Sorry Badi Ma, I have been really occupied with the new case as well as Manvi but you know that I will always have the time for you." he assured her. They both engaged themselves in the conversation, discussing about his cases, client and almost everything under the sun. His conversations with his Badi Ma are not always intellectual but also personal; he could almost confide anything with her. Finally Swamini asked him the question that was bugging her all this while "Viren, tum khush hu na?". Viren was astonished with her question. "Badi Ma, of course I'm happy. What makes you think the otherwise? "he replied. "Viren, I have always wanted the best for you. Let it be your school, career and everything else in your life. When I was given the task of finding your life partner, it took me great effort to ensure your wife was compatible with you not by mere appearance but also with qualities and her upbringing because I wanted the best for you. I wanted your wife to fulfill your every need and give you all the happiness in the world but now I'm worried whether I manage to give you the same kind of happiness that I envisioned. I have no qualms against Jeevika but with recent incidents and Manvi's health conditions; I noticed that Jeevika's attention and priorities have changed. I know that every husband wants to be the top most priority of his wife but within short period of your marriage, you needed to endure so many hurdles. I just hope you could understand Jeevika's quandary and it doesn't affect your marriage "Swamini finally spoke.

"Badi Ma, I know Jeevika has been disturbed with Manvi's illness. Manvi is not just Jeevika's sister but her soul mate. I don't blame her for changing her priorities in her life now; I would have done the same if I was in Jeevika's position. In fact, I'm actually beginning to understand my wife better. The best thing that has ever happen in my life is Jeevika and I can't thank you enough for bringing Jeevika as my jeevan saathi. Despite her agony and emotional turmoil, she has never failed me as a wife and she has given me an opportunity to be her strength. Your decisions in my life have never been wrong and it will never be. Your upbringing has always taught me to perceive things wholly" Viren assured his Badi Ma of her choice and relieved her from her worries. Jeevika who decided to serve tea for her husband and Swamini Bua halted at the door step. Her expression froze as she heard their conversation. She dragged her feet back to the kitchen, left the tea tray on the counter and walked blindly as her legs led her to solitary.

Tears flooded her eyes; she never realized that she was so preoccupied with Manvi that she nearly neglected the family that she embraced as her own after her marriage. Swamini Bua was reasoning on her behalf to her husband and her husband perceives the situation in a positive manner; as his privilege to be her pillar of support. She couldn't count her blessings; her mum always told her there was a silver lining behind every cloud. She didn't know whether to cry for Manvi's illness or to rejoice for being bestowed with such a wonderful family. Beeji's words flashed in her mind when Viren insisted Manvi's treatment to be done in Chandigarh, "Jeevika beta, I will only allow this on one condition that you will not neglect your responsibilities as wife and daughter in-law. Can I have your word on that?" Beeji sternly asked and Jeevika promised to uphold her trust. Her love for her sister has clouded her from her other responsibilities. She broke her promise to Beeji and the word that she gave Dadaji that her responsibilities will always precede her emotions and love.

Viren saw his wife on their bedroom couch, curled up and he heard soft sobs from her. He knew she was worried about Manvi, he walked towards her and caressed her hair softly. Her body shuddered as she felt the familiar touch, the touch who always consoled her when she needed the most, a shoulder to cry over, her companion whom she has almost neglected yet he never complaint but continued to support as she stood along Manvi against her illness. She immediately hugged him, thrusting her face on his chest and her sob broke into louder cries as he stroked her, trying to ease her pain."Jeevika, Manvi will be alright." he whispered as he tried to console her and her cries became lauder instead leaving Viren perplexed. "Kya hua Jeevika" he asked deeply concerned with his wife's tears. "I'm so sorry Viren ji. All this while I have been overly concern of Manvi's health that I failed to see other things around me. I have neglected my other duties as a wife; a daughter in-law yet no one held any grudge against me... "tears choked her as she spoke. Viren cupped her face in his hands and saw how distraught his wife was. "My dear FM ji, when will you stop worrying? When I took my marriage vows with you, I promised to be at your side during happiness and sadness. How can I expect happiness when I know you are suffering within, and I would not have been any different if I was in your shoes." he assured his wife and he was relieved as her sobbing reduced. "I agree that you have given my share of attention to my dear Saali and in return I demand full attention once my Saali is back on her feet. There will be no compromise then. How is the deal? Anyways I think Virat can keep her occupied while I enjoy my wife's exclusive pampering "he asked Jeevika while wiping her tears away. Jeevika's delicate lips curved into a smile and that was enough to lighten the mood in the room. "Now that is better Mrs Vandhera. By the way, haven't I told you that you don't look beautiful when you are crying" he smirked as he reciprocates her hug.

Virat was restless in his room, the same place where once he happily spent his entire day was suffocating him today. He tried to sleep, to read, to listen to music, to play his games but everything failed. Unable to bear the torture any longer, he finally gathered his courage to make the call that he was hesitating for hours. After his persistence persuasion, he finally succeeded. He ended the call with the smile on his face and immediately packed his stuff and left. Whenever Vanshika Ma was around, Manvi felt contented as if her mother was around. Those heavenly moments were disrupted by a knock on the door. Manvi wondered who could be at this hour of the day. She gasped in surprise when she saw a familiar head popping in "Virat, tum!". He gave his most charming smile to both the two important ladies in his life. "Agaya tum..." Vanshika asked in stern voice and Virat gave her the most innocent smile and she immediately melted. "Ma, the driver is waiting for you at the lobby. I will behave as promised, so you can go and get some rest Ma." he assured his mum. Vanshika kissed Manvi goodbye and left while Virat accompanied her to the car. Manvi was completely clueless of what was happening but she decided she will demand for an answer once her Chep is back to the room. When Virat walked in the room, he saw her sitting on her bed with her arms crossed waiting to ambush him. "Ok meri Jhansi ki rani, I will explain everything. Don't bother wasting your energy. I went home as directed and slept the whole evening through. Now I m wide awake as an owl, so I decided to keep you company here rather than Ma. I called her to explain and she agreed. End of story!" he explained hiding the fact that he had to plead to his mom instead of explaining. "Virat, you and Di were supposed to be at home resting, it was an order from Vanshika aunty but now…" she tried to argue but Virat shushed her. "I have gone home, rested and even shaved if you have failed to notice. Now it is time for you to rest" he tried to pacify her but she was not ready to accept. "Ok yaar, I have seriously tried to rest, trust me I did. I was suffocating in my own room, I was restless and I needed to be with you. I finally called Ma, pleaded her and finally she allowed me to come over. Here I'm now. Ab khushi?" he finally confessed and she nodded. "Virat…" she called him softly. He pulled the chair to sit close to her when she moved aside, making him sit next to her on the bed instead. She leaned on his chest, cuddling to him "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" she asked. Virat wrapped his hand around her, bringing her closer "I didn't want you to worry too much Manvi" he replied. "I missed you Chep" she whispered "I missed you too Bandariya. Now it is very late, you better get some rest while I start on my work" Virat replied as he reached out for his bag taking out some books from it. "Virat, what books are you reading at this hour? Don't tell me on cancer again?" Manvi asked. "No, it is not on cancer but my old books on Law. Thought of brushing up" he replied. Manvi's eyes were widen as if she saw ghost. "Virat, tum aur Law books? Ghar mein kya hua? Dadaji kuch kaha?" Manvi shot him with strings of question. "Oye mera beena break ki kaadi, how am I supposed to answer when you don't even pause to breath and grant me a chance to explain?" Virat stopped her.
"I decided to spare everyone from heart-attack at home by announcing my sudden decision to practice Law; I guess enough of one casualty in the family at the moment." He winked at her but she was still staggered from her shock.  "Virat, kyu? I mean I'm happy that you have decided to pursue your career but why the sudden decision, why Law and why now? We both know that your passion lies elsewhere. This has got nothing to do with what Dabbu said earlier today nah? "she quizzed him with her scrutinizing look. "Well thanks to your Dabbu, I now need to prove my capabilities to all your suitors that he has lined up for you in Rishikesh" he joked but Manvi was definitely not amused. "Ok baba, actually it was not a sudden decision. I have made up my mind to pursue Law long ago but never really realized the urgency until the conversation Dabbu brought it up earlier. Dadaji would bring down the house if I tell him that I want to take up case on my own or if I decide to pursue my career with other firms. So I decided to speak to Bhai & Chachu later about joining them as junior counsel till I prove my capabilities to handle cases on my own.  At least it will give me time to catch up with Law that I jilted long time ago at my pace and able to spend time with you." he answered her. Manvi tried to retort but he placed his fingers on her lips, "Tum kuch mat bolo. It is high time that I start standing on my own feet and create my identity instead of shading behind my family, Samja meri jaan." Virat explained. "But Virat, tumara passion, tumara music koh kya hoga" Manvi finally asked. "Manvi, Law runs in my blood while music was a gift I was born with. The gift that gave me memories that I won't want to revisit at all until you came into my life. The music in my life will only return when the love of my life returns home with me. So get well soon and my music will be your welcome gift. " he finally promised her his music. Manvi was floundered for words, sadness and happiness choked her at the same time. She didn't know whether to be happy to have earned his love or to be worried with her fear that his music will die with her if she doesn't survive her battle.  Tears substituted her words. "Oye mere Bandariya, aaj kal tum itna senti kyu hogaya? Baas karo yeh aaso meri drama queen "he teased her to lighten the mood while he wiped off her tears. "You know something, Bhai and I will definitely shine in telly world in case we fail to excel in court. After dealing with two full time drama queen sisters in our life, we could handle anyone heroine out there" he joked and in return he received a blow on his chest from Manvi. "Thanks for the blow. Ab mera ehsaas hua ki mera Jhansi ki rani wapas agaya. Chalo, it is way past your bedtime; so time to sleep." He announced as he tucked her into her bed and kissed her goodnight. He caressed her hair until she dozed off to her slumber land, then he went back to his books. He shook his head in amazement as he was about to do something that he least expected himself to do voluntarily, all thanks to his Bandariya, her love. Virat Singh Vandhera was on his way to becoming a lawyer, upholding the family tradition.
